The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) stated that the e-Visa system will be launched in the third quarter of 2023. According to a report from the state-run Philippine News Agency (PNA), foreign affairs undersecretary Jesus Domingo emphasized that this development will greatly improve the visa application process, making it easier, faster, more efficient, and convenient for individuals wishing to visit the Philippines for both leisure and business purposes.
The DFA is collaborating with the Department of Information and Communications Technology to implement this online visa system. The Philippine Ambassador to China, Jaime FlorCruz, expressed optimism about this initiative, as it is expected to attract more Chinese tourists and students to the Southeast Asian nation, as reported by the PNA.
